Massive congrats to Will for winning the Best Early Researcher Presentation Prize at the Fera Science Symposium! This was the first talk Will has given in his PhD, so he’s off to a great start! Titled “Noisy eaters! Building belowground invertebrate trophic networks for soil health monitoring using metagenomics and ecoacoustics”, Will’s talk set out the core aims of his PhD and all of the excellent work he has planned over the next three years.

FERG was well-represented at the conference too, with Broghan, Ben, Will and Jordan all making it along. We had a great time catching up with collaborators in Fera and hearing about some of the super cool things going on in their facilities in York’s Biotech Campus!
