Check out the new preprint led by Jordan and co-authored by fellow members of the Royal Entomological Society (RES) Publications Committee and RES journal Editors-in-Chief: The case for open research in entomology: reducing harm, refining reproducibility and advancing insect science
Open research is an increasingly important framework within which to develop, share and re-use research, but it has been poorly represented across entomology. Entomologists have several crucial and unique reasons to adopt open research practices, including the need for accessible research and data to address grand challenges, fostering trust and best practice, and maximising the use of research to minimise killing and/or disturbance of insects. This article summarises these imperatives whilst also providing summaries and guidance for the adoption of these practices.

Working alongside others looking to advance the RES’ publication strategy was great! Hopefully the paper will help others adopt and encourage open research.
