As we’ve shared earlier in the year, Jordan has led the development and launch of a new Royal Entomological Society journal, Approaches in Entomology! To mark the beginning of this journey, Jordan, alongside fellow editors Meghan Barrett, Beulah Garner and Mike Bonsall, wrote an editorial presenting the key mission for the journal: to provide a home for research across the breadth of entomology related to how and why we study arthropods.
This includes methodological advances, philosophical insights and ethical dialogues. Alongside innovations in the methods we use and the tools that help us along the way, Approaches in Entomology will tackle the foundations of insect science, including the way we perceive, interpret and critique data, and our ever-evolving relationship with arthropods.
The editorial has also been quickly followed by the first couple of empirical papers in the journal!
There are many really exciting papers coming through, some of which have already been accepted and will be online in the coming days. We’re really excited to see the journal evolve over the coming months and years! It’s open for submissions, so please do spread the word!
